The map creation tool for Age of Wonders 3 is known as the "Map Editor" and is powered by the creator engine. This tool allows for the creation of both scenario maps and campaign maps along with the tools needed to stitch the campaign maps into a full blown user made campaign.
The editor itself is empty on the launch but when the map size is selected and other details locked in the editor quickly populates with a blank grass map that can be edited with the various terrain brushes and structures in the sidebar.
